Carlos Fonseca Amador was a prominent Nicaraguan revolutionary leader and founder of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), a political and guerrilla movement that played an important role in the Nicaraguan revolution and overthrew the governm ent of Anastasio Somoza Debayle in 1979.

Date of death: November 8, 1976
